US FEBRUARY CONSUMER CONFIDENCE FALLS SHORT OF EXPECTATIONS

US February consumer confidence came in at 98.3, below the expected 102.5.

Prior month's consumer confidence was 104.1.

Present Situation Index rose to 136.5, up from 133.1 previously.

Expectations Index fell to 72.9, down from 82.2.

12-month inflation expectations increased to 6.0%, up from 5.2% last month.

This marks the third consecutive month of declines, the largest drop since August 2021, raising concerns for the Fed.
