Ranked: The World’s 20 Largest Economies, by GDP (PPP)

The G7 started in the 1970s during the oil crisis, representing the world's top wealthy economies.

In the 2000s, the BRICS group (mostly from the Global South) emerged, gaining influence due to globalization and economic growth.

Both G7 and BRICS are part of the G20, a group of the 20 largest global economies.

The G20 represents 70–85% of the world economy, depending on whether GDP is measured by nominal value or purchasing power parity (PPP).

The chart shows the 2024 GDP of G20 countries in PPP terms, based on data from the IMF (October 2024).

Figures are in International dollars and rounded for simplicity.
