The University of Michigan released new data on consumer confidence and inflation expectations.
Consumer confidence in February dropped to 67.8 points, the lowest in six months.
This is worse than expected—experts thought it would be 71.9 points.
In January, the confidence index was 73.2 points, but later revised to 71.1 points.
The latest numbers show a negative trend in consumer confidence.
